With greater drilling density and the reworking of old areas, the risk of an accidental line strike grows. Midwest can provide accurate, timely line marking in order to significantly reduce these risks. Our experience working in sensitive areas enhances our ability to precisely identify and mark buried lines. Midwest personnel also have the safety training, equipment, and expertise to safely work in and around active drilling and construction zones.
Midwest’s large number of field crews and office locations facilitate access to target locations across Western Canada. Of course, proper research is a key component to line location and marking. Our extensive proprietary database of survey plans from throughout the region, combined with our access to third-party records, enables Midwest to provide comprehensive searches for existing facilities before our crews enter the area. Once onsite, our highly experienced crews locate existing lines using historical information in conjunction with advanced line detection equipment.
While we realize that safety and reducing potential liability from a line strike are your key concerns, however, if Midwest already has crews working in the area of your line locate, you could realize a reduction in transportation expenses.
To minimize your work load related to line locates required under Alberta or Saskatchewan 1 Call programs, Midwest can also become your designated 1 Call service provider. This can eliminate the day-to-day demands on your company’s time to coordinate buried facility locations. Upon receipt of notification that locates are requested, Midwest can first check the location specified against current EUB records, our extensive graphical database, and other sources of available information. Based on the buffer zone requirements you provide, Midwest can determine whether a field trip to perform locates is warranted. Depending on your preferences, Midwest can notify you when a scheduled ground disturbance is within a specified distance to your facilities, notify you whenever there is a locate request in your area, or simply coordinate any field visits that may be required. Midwest will provide all the required information to your company and the call originator, and will perform any necessary line marking.
